[Discuss] Going open source. Need assistance

Do you plan on continuing development? Will there be a v2, v3, v4, etc.
What sort of files are you using? CAD, text, images, etc.

Thingiverse is good for CAD, particularly certain kinds of CAD, and is okay
for development.
Github is great for text and development, but has a learning curve.
ODE is good if you plan to be working on it with other people over a long
period of time.
Etc.

So far there isn't one obvious place to put your open source hardware
project, but the stuff you have available to publish and how much
collaboration you want to do moving forward will kind of point you in the
direction of a particular hosting platform.
