[Discuss] Comparing Design Platforms

I'm compiling a list of online platforms that encourage sharing and
replication of hardware designs. My intention is to compare them on a
number of variables, such as:
* it's business model
* is the platforms' software published and under what license?
* forms of design files
* features that encourage sharing
* license options of the designs
etc

I'm sure I missed a whole lot of details, and platforms, so if you
observe mistakes and valuable additions, please let me know.
