Dear all,

It is my pleasure to announce that the CERN Open Hardware Licence v1.2
has been released. You will find a link to it from the official CERN OHL
web page:

http://ohwr.org/cernohl

Many thanks to all those of you who contributed to making it a very good
weak copyleft licence for hardware designs. Over the next months your
help will again be much appreciated as we try to develop a new version
which adequately covers HDL designs. This is a very important area with
no appropriate weak copyleft licensing solutions currently.

Those of you in the Geneva area might be interested in attending a
workshop [1] we are co-organizing within the Open Knowledge Conference,
to be held on Monday 16 September. Part of the workshop will be devoted
to describing and discussing the licence.

Many thanks again to all! Cheers,

Javier
