[Discuss] EFF Defensive - now we should consider offense

I commend the EFF and their partners for their work to defend the
open-source 3-D printing ecosystem. Now it is time to start considering how
we can be more offensive - that it is to preemptively eliminate the
potential for intellectual property lock down of our work. My group has
started thinking about defensive publications of prior art to help identify
obvious materials for 3-D printing and thus eliminate them from patenting
because of the obvious clause. See http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:73427

If anyone has opinions or thoughts about how we can make such an approach
air tight - please share -- particularly if you are a patent lawyer.

Thanks
Joshua
